New measures to tackle street drinking could be introduced in Moseley and Kings Heath.

Birmingham City Council is consulting on a so-called Public Space Protection Order.

It would give police powers to ask people to hand over open alcoholic drinks, other "intoxicating substances" like legal highs, or materials suspected of being used for graffiti.

Officers could also order groups of three or more people suspected of causing anti-social behaviour to disperse. But locals in Old Park Village in Wolverhampton, where a similar order has already been introduced, do not believe it has helped kerb problems there.
