  2. Flash flooding: Fire service received 900 emergency callspublished at 08:10 British Summer Time 17 June 2016

    Flash flooding in Birmingham hit another level yesterday evening and overnight.

    West Midlands Fire Service received 900 emergency calls between 17:00 and 22:00.

    It meant they advised motorists to "only travel if absolutely necessary". 

    Situations emerged simultaneously, with the south of the city hit hardest. We'll bring you details shortly.
