  15. Birmingham 'a hotspot for high blood pressure'published at 15:08 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

Birmingham is one of the worst areas for undiagnosed high blood pressure, according to a health charity.

Research from Blood Pressure UK estimates 282,200 in the city suffer from hypertension, with County Durham (144,500), Leeds (193,000) and the Wyre Forest (307,010) also having high numbers.

Nationally the charity says one in three people live with high blood pressure, five million of whom are undiagnosed.

It's urging people to have their blood pressure checked at least once a year, claiming it could reduce the risk of strokes and heart attacks and save money in health and social care.

  17. Education bosses: We made mistake on changes to kids travelpublished at 14:35 British Summer Time 8 September 2016

    Adrian Goldberg
    Presenter, BBC WM

Education bosses in Birmingham have admitted they got their policy wrong for providing school transport for children with special needs.

Over the summer, two mums were told by Birmingham City Council's Travel Assist scheme that their children, who have autism, would only be eligible for a free bus pass when they started secondary school this month - instead of minibuses.

The council says it's reviewed those and other cases and has changed how it handles the scheme.

It says it wants to help children with special needs to travel safely across the city.
