    Earlier this morning around 20 caravans were on the car park but half have left in the past half an hour or so.

    Almost a quarter of trains run by operator London Midland were more than five minutes late last week.

    The firm has  tweeted its latest punctuality level figures, with only 76%, external of its 6,490 trains arriving within five minutes of their scheduled times.

    It's the lowest percentage for any operator in February, external and is well below the 84% average across the UK.

    The operator say almost a quarter of the delays last week were "London Midland related", with 77% due to "other issues".

  4. Pupils get police escort to school as travellers 'refuse to leave' published at 09:39 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2017

    Pupils are being escorted to and from a Birmingham school this morning after its head teacher said, external travellers were "not willing to abide by a notice" to leave its car park.

    Up to 20 caravans arrived at Shenley Academy on Friday. They were served an eviction notice on Saturday giving them 24 hours to leave, but head teacher Lucy Monk said the travellers were still there on Monday morning.

    The academy in Shenley Fields has been closed to all pupils from years 7,8,9 and 10 on Monday but open for those in years 11,12 and 13 - whom Ms Monk said would be supervised by West Midlands Police officers and school leaders to enter the school via its Shenley Lane delivery entrance.

    She added pupils would not be allowed outside the school building throughout the school day, including PE lessons, break and lunchtimes. Ms Monk said pupils would also be supervised when they left school at the end of the day.

    Thousands of people are carrying driving licences that have expired.

    A BBC investigation found 180,892 in the West Midlands are carrying the out of date cards.

    Photo card licences need to be updated every 10 years, at a cost, but it seems many people in our region are not aware of that.

    It means people across the West Midlands could collectively owe £180m in fines - £1,000 per licence that's out of date.

    You could also face an extra fine of £1,000 if the address on your licence is not correct – although in reality, very few people are prosecuted.

  6. West Midlands Police baton use 'may have been fatal' after football game published at 08:40 Greenwich Mean Time 27 February 2017

    There's been allegations that officers used excessive force and misused their batons on football fans.

    More than 100 supporters were caught up in clashes with police after Wolves' home match against Birmingham City on Friday.

    Nick Glynn said someone " could've died " when police used batons.
