    Two men have raised nearly £7,000 for the NHS by running 100 miles around the streets of Wolverhampton dressed as Peppa Pig and the Pink Panther.

    Stuart Bailey and Earl Edwards started their efforts on 2 April and have been running in their spare time every Monday and Thursday.

    They finished at New Cross Hospital, Wolverhampton and described the previous weeks as "emotional" and a "rollercoaster ride" of blisters and smiles.

    Tributes have been paid to an NHS manager at Birmingham Women’s and Children's NHS Trust who has died with coronavirus.

    Mark Piggott, 57, was responsible for leading capital projects and programmes for the trust.

    His wife Julie said: "Mark was a great family man, a loving husband and fantastic dad to our sons Daniel and Alex.

    "We’re devastated to have to say goodbye to him."

    The hospital trust director Graham Seager, said: "Mark was an all-round great guy, you couldn't ask for a better colleague, and he will be missed by us all."

    The driver of a car stopped by police in Coventry by a stinger-device was an "innocent buyer who had been duped into buying the stolen car," police said.

    Hairdressers to the stars, Royston Blythe and Nick Malenko, have launched a campaign to offer free services to NHS staff.

    The pair, who feature on ITVBe's the Real Housewives of Cheshire, called on salons across the UK to join National Hair Sunday. It's a promise to give free hairdressing to NHS staff on the first Sunday that lockdown restrictions allow.

    Thousands of salons across the UK have signed up, including the Francesco Group, which has 40 salons across England. Royston Blythe, who has salons in Wolverhampton and Shrewsbury, has styled Katy Perry, Antonio Banderas and Lily Cole.

    Shropshire's seven recycling centres are going to reopen tomorrow but only cars will be allowed to take waste under tight guidelines given the pandemic.

    Shropshire , externaland Telford and Wrekin, external councils say they'll only be open for essential use and people should expect to have to queue for a long time to get in.

    The guidelines include restricting people to one person per car, one visit a day and they won't be accepting trade or commercial waste.

    One man has been taken to hospital after a car hit a house in Sutton Coldfield last night.

    Paramedic crews were called to the scene, at the junction of Coleshill Road and Upper Holland Road at about 20:45.

    The driver of the car was taken to hospital with injuries not thought to be life-threatening, said the ambulance service.

    A large fire involving 200 tonnes of waste metal was still being tackled by firefighters on Sunday evening, the service said.

    Crews from West Midlands Fire Service were called to the blaze at the Shredmet site on Aston Church Road, Nechells, Birmingham on Friday morning.

    The company running the site said the blaze "occurred within metal that had not been processed" during lockdown.

    The fire service tweeted on Sunday evening, external its last firefighter had left the scene.

    As the nation is told to stay at home, defiant protesters against HS2 have chosen to self-isolate at makeshift camps in under-threat forests.

    Dozens are living in ancient woodlands during lockdown - spending the days up trees - where they say they have been isolating as though they are a single, large household.
