    Dozens of car drivers were told to leave by police after about 100 got together on an industrial estate.

    Officers were called to the Stafford Park site in Telford on Sunday and said the people involved left "no problem" after being talked to.

    The forced tweeted , externalit was "probably not the right time" for such a gathering due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

    A huge oxygen cylinder has begun a long and slow journey across three counties which is expected to take until the weekend., external

    It is the second time one of the tanks, which measure 49 metres long and weigh 225 tonnes, has been driven from Cheshire to Warwickshire this month.

    On the last journey it became a bit of a star, drawing crowds along the route and being photographed repeatedly on social media. , external

    This second cylinder left Ellesmere Port, Cheshire, on Saturday, external and is expected to cross into Staffordshire this afternoon. , external

    Drivers have been warned to expect long queues along the route as it will travel at just 5mph.

    Dan Evans showed why he is British number one with an accomplished display against Kyle Edmund to win the Battle of the Brits final on Sunday.

    The Birmingham-based player, 30, won 6-3 6-2 as he continued the momentum he had gathered before the professional tour was suspended because of the coronavirus pandemic in March.

    This may have been an exhibition event but the quality at the National Tennis Centre has made it a competitive week.

    "It has been a long week and a great week," said Evans, who made only three unforced errors compared to Edmund's 20.

    Evans will be hoping he can pick up where he left off when the ATP Tour resumes in August.

    Three gay black people have been speaking to the BBC about encountering racism in the world of online dating - from feeling fetishised to the impact of colourism.

    Earlier this month, dating and hook-up app Grindr said it would remove its "ethnicity filter", following years of criticism from users.

    However, nearly a month after the announcement the feature is still available and being promoted on the app.

    Wolves have taken a step closer to qualifying for next season's Champions League with a 1-0 win over Aston Villa.

    They're now fifth in the Premier League, two points behind Chelsea in fourth, and three clear of Manchester United.

    Wolves manager Nuno Espirito Santo praised the players for their hard work.

  6. 'Complex operation' to rescue man and child from rock facepublished at 08:52 British Summer Time 29 June 2020

    A man and boy have been rescued after getting stuck 60m up the side of a rock face in the Staffordshire Moorlands.

    They were lowered by rope from Thor's Cave in Wetton yesterday afternoon, said Staffordshire Fire Service.

    They weren't hurt but emergency services are urging people not to take unnecessary risks at Moorlands beauty spots

    Rob Barber, deputy chief fire officer, said it had been a "complex" operation.

    “The Moorlands can be a beautiful location to visit, but when the ground is wet, rocks can be slippery and dangerous.

    "I would urge any visitors to locations like these to follow local safety information and to not take any unnecessary risks.”

    As the vibrant dragon weaved its way through the crowds - and torrential rain - to mark the Year of the Rat in January, the annual celebrations in Birmingham were noticeably quiet.

    "It was the Chinese community that stayed away," says organiser James Wong.

    "They'd seen what was happening in Wuhan and saw videos of people in body bags on social media. A lot of people thought it was too dangerous to go out."
