    A century for summer signing Tim Bresnan put Warwickshire on top against Northamptonshire heading into day three of their first Bob Willis Trophy game.

    Former England all-rounder Bresnan (pictured, batting), now 35, hit 105, to give the Bears a first-innings lead of 227 and their opponents will resume today on 19-0.

    Elsewhere, Worcestershire openers Jake Libby and Daryl Mitchell dominated proceedings on the second day of their match against Central Group rivals Gloucestershire at the Bristol County Ground.

    The pair staged a superb stand of 152 to see Worcestershire reached the close on 223-2, just 44 runs behind their hosts.
