    Two of the men suffered serious injuries with the third having more minor injuries.

    The force said it wanted to hear from anyone who saw a dark-coloured vehicle leaving the scene.

    Crews remain at the scene of a fire at a waste recycling plant in Shropshire.

    The incident is at the Granville waste processing site on Grange Lane, Redhill, and covers an area of approximately 300 sq m across steep-sided terrain, said the fire service.

    Drone footage with thermal imaging capability is being used to identify the extent of the fire said Shropshire Fire and Rescue Service.

    People living nearby are being warned there is still residual smoke and the smell of fumes in the area, and to keep doors and windows closed.

  6. Two arrested on suspicion of wounding after man injuredpublished at 17:46 British Summer Time 17 September 2020

    Two men have been arrested on suspicion of wounding following an incident in Rugby.

    Officers were called to Frobisher Road at about 10:30 on Wednesday to reports a man in his 20s had been stabbed during an argument.

    The victim remains in hospital, with injuries that aren't thought to be life-threatening, said Warwickshire Police.

  7. Coronavirus test centre closed 'due to volume of people'published at 17:35 British Summer Time 17 September 2020

    A Covid-19 mobile test centre in Solihull was forced to close early today due to the volume of people turning up.

    The mobile testing unit on Monkspath Hall Road was closed from 14:00 BST despite people being given appointments for later in the day.

    In a tweet Solihull Council said people with a valid test code for today, should return on Friday.

    "We understand how frustrating it is trying to get a test at the moment, but if you don't have a QR code from the NHS Test and Trace website please do not turn up at this site," it added.

    James Brody told the BBC he was booked at 15:00 BST but queued for 45 minutes just to get to the entrance of the car park - where he was turned away by police for "health and safety reasons".‘It was absolutely chaos, he said.

    "The stress levels are already high and this just makes it so much worse.

    "We’ve tried for four days to get anything within an hour of home with no luck and then this appointment popped up at midday which we were so relieved about. And then this. It’s clear the system isn’t working."

    A man has been arrested on suspicion of assault after a stabbing incident at a shopping centre in Staffordshire.

    Officers were called to the Orbital Retail Centre, in Cannock, just before 16:00 BST on Monday.

    The 47-year-old victim was taken to hospital suffering serious injuries to his hand, police said.

    A 46-year-old man, from Birmingham who was arrested on suspicion of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, has been released on bail.

    E-scooters will be fitted with number plates when they return to Coventry after an initial trial had to be halted due to people riding them on pavements.

    The 12-month scheme was paused after five days amid reports they were being used in pedestrianised areas - against guidelines.

    The city council put the trial on hold while it reviewed how e-scooters could be used "appropriately".

    Swedish company Voi, which provided the devices, said they would all have clear number plates when the trial restarted to help identify riders.

    The firm said it would also have more staff on the streets to "enforce safe behaviour" and the e-scooters would not work between 22:00 and 06:00.
