A nine-year-old boy is in a serious condition in hospital after his bicycle was hit by a car.
The collision happened at the junction of Manor Road and Church Road in Wordsley, near Stourbridge, this morning, West Midlands Police said.
The boy suffered head and leg injuries and officers said the driver of a car was helping with their investigation.

Increased support for jobs and workers hit by Covid-19 restrictions from the chancellor has been welcomed by a bar owner in Birmingham as "a glimmer of hope".
Rishi Sunak announced big changes to the Job Support Scheme set to replace furlough in November.
Businesses in tier two areas such as Birmingham, particularly in the hospitality sector, had complained that they would be better off if they were under tier three restrictions.
Under the revised scheme, employers will pay less and staff can work fewer hours before they qualify.
Dani Collins runs Velvet on Broad Street and said she had been "absolutely dreading" 1 November when furlough ends.
"The future is so uncertain, we are running at a constant loss, but this means we carry on and keep our workforce," she said.
A motorcyclist remains in a critical condition in hospital after a collision with a car which drove off from the crash.

The 28-year-old was knocked off his bike and collided with a bus going in the opposite direction.
Officers have released photos of a panel and a fog light which they said the car left behind at the scene.

Plans to ask residents in two towns to pay extra council tax to tackle climate change have been shelved as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
A referendum on whether people in Warwick and Leamington would be willing to pay £1 extra a week was due to be held in May.
However, it was cancelled along with all local elections as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
Warwick District Council leader Andrew Day has now confirmed the vote won't be held in 2021 either.
Instead the council is looking to form a "super district" by merging some services with Stratford-on-Avon District Council.
The two authorities will look at how they can work together to tackle climate change issues.

More positive cases of Covid-19 are expected at a university in Shropshire after they shot up in the past few days, according to its vice-chancellor.
Sixty-six students have tested positive since Saturday at Harper Adams University, near Newport, along with three members of staff.
The figures, from the university, , externalshow 19 cases among students the week before and none a fortnight ago.
Vice-chancellor David Llewellyn said cases had been increasing across Telford and Wrekin.
"The last thing we want to do is for anybody in the local community to feel as though students are the only cause of this issue of Covid because clearly they are not. There is a community-wide issue going on here."
The infection rate for the wider Telford and Wrekin area has increased from 79.0 per 100,000 in the seven days to 10 October to 142.9 a week later.

Thousands of lower-income families in Staffordshire are being offered financial support during half-term.
The county council said, external it would give a £15 voucher to the families of 18,000 children to spend in supermarkets on food or essential supplies.
The scheme will be available to those who are entitled to free school meals during term time.

Stoke-on-Trent is to move into tier two from 00:01 on Saturday, the secretary of state for health has announced.
Speaking in the House of Commons, Matt Hancock told MPs that Stoke, along with Coventry and Slough, had seen cases double every fortnight.

Plans have been approved for a new training ground for Wasps rugby club, despite more than 700 objections.
Stratford District Council approved the proposals, external for the club to build their new complex at Henley-in-Arden Sports Club.
The objections had centred around the loss of community access to the sports pitches.
Wasps said , externalgetting the permission was a "landmark moment" for the club.
However the decision will be reviewed by the government as Sport England objected to the loss of community sports facilities.

Railway tracks from a disused line are going to save a heritage railway £200,000.
The tracks have been removed as part of the ongoing Midland Metro tram-line extension works from Wednesbury to Brierley Hill.
Instead of being scrapped, Transport for West Midlands has donated them to the Severn Valley Railway which said they'll be stockpiled for future replacement track work.
General Manager Helen Smith said: "Every year we try and replace about half a mile worth of track. That costs us in the region of £100,000.
"This is a mile worth of track so it will save us a lot of money and it just makes such a difference."

One of the groups of offenders used a silver VW Passat which in one case was used to ram open shutters at RS News, Willenhall.
Officers said cash, alcohol and cigarettes were taken in two of the raids.
A 20-year-old man has been arrested over the burglaries and released under investigation.
