    A couple say they feel "devastated" and "abandoned" after their farmhouse flooded this week.

    Peter Gill and his wife Marie had to be rescued along with their dog from their home in Woore, near Market Drayton, Shrosphire, when it became surrounded by up to 3ft (0.9m) of water.

    Mr Gill said the water was "coming like a river" down the road and on to the drive.

    "[I'm] devastated because we have spent a lot of money on this house and we just feel as though we are sort of abandoned really and we don't know quite what to do."

    Residents rescued from their flooded Shropshire homes have been given Covid-19 tests after the operations to ensure their safety and that of others, the council says, external.

    Emergencies allow for people to leave their homes despite lockdown, but the assisted exit puts evacuees in proximity to firefighters and those with whom they come into contact at their temporary destination.

    Meanwhile, the bus station has closed , externaldue to flooding in Shrewsbury, where services are disrupted.

    Arriva Midlands West said , externalit was working to keep services "as close to normal as possible" but warned of delays and diversions.

    People in Bridgnorth say they feel forgotten amid the latest flooding to hit the region, and say they want better protection from rising waters.

    A flood warning covers the town where the River Severn is expected to peak tonight having already burst its banks in places.

    On Twitter, user @StAndrews68 said, external "yet again" Bridgnorth had been overlooked for flood defences while @Woodgy added, external "have to feel for the people flooded out yet again".

    In February, residents made a similar complaint over a perceived lack of barriers compared to other towns such as Ironbridge, Bewdley and Worcester.

    The government said last year it would spend £4bn on flood defences nationally over five years. The Environment Agency has been approached for comment over the complaints.

    Snow and icy conditions could be on their way for the West Midlands on top of the heavy rain which has caused flooding this week.

    A school and several roads in Ironbridge have been closed today with a risk of flooding in the town.

    The level of the River Severn is expected to peak in the area today, Telford and Wrekin Council says. , external

    Coalbrookdale and Ironbridge Primary School has been shut while roads close to the river, such as The Wharfage and Dale End, have been closed.

    The authority says sandbags have been delivered to at-risk properties while more will be issued over the next few hours.

    A man has died in a two-car crash in Birmingham.

    It happened at the junction of Church Road and Lichfield Road, Aston, on Thursday night, the ambulance service said., external

    The man was in a critical condition when crews arrived and died at the scene.

    Two other men suffered serious injuries and have been taken to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital.

    More flood defences have been installed in parts of Worcestershire with further flooding expected over the next 24 hours.

    Barriers have been extended at Beales Corner, Bewdley, and the county council says Bewdley Bridge will close this morning for extra defences to be installed. , external

    BBC Radio Hereford and Worcester's Alistair Binney has been in Bewdley this morning and says the River Severn is expected to keep rising through the county.

    "All of this water is heading downstream to Worcester, to Upton, so over the next 24 to 36 hours people are being warned there could be some flooding in Worcestershire."

    People in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire are being warned more of the counties could see flooding over the next couple of days.

    While the forecast is for drier weather on Friday, the Environment Agency still has dozens of flood warnings, external in place across the three counties, along with a handful in Staffordshire and Warwickshire.

    With river levels still rising downstream as water from this week's rain makes its way through the system, the agency says some places may not see a peak until Saturday.

    Dozens of roads in Shropshire, Herefordshire and Worcestershire were closed on Thursday due to flooding and three families were rescued by boat in Hereford.

    Clare Dinnis, Environment Agency area director for the West Midlands, said they would closely monitor rivers over the next couple of days.

    "The good news is that we're not expecting the extreme levels that we've seen particularly last year, but this is a significant flood and... some homes have already been affected."

    Water levels were "rising rapidly" in two properties to which firefighters were sent on Berwick Road, a spokesperson said.

    Two motorists were also rescued after vehicles became stuck at different times in the Pentre area.

    The fire service urged people to, external not ignore road closure signs warning of the dangers of driving into flood water.

    BBC Radio Shropshire's Andy Broxton has been in the town centre: "[The water] has come up, over the wall here as you walk down Smithfield Road and once again it is right across the road.

    "You have the water just lapping at the doors of the lighting shop and of course the barbers next door seems to have the sandbags just peaking out from underneath the water."
