A petrol station owner says he could lose 40% of his sales from a lack of fuel due to the ongoing lorry driver shortages in the UK.
Coventry-based Paul Cheema has been in the business since 2013 and says he has never experienced a situation like this before.
A "handful" of BP stations, and a small number of Esso-owned Tesco Alliance stations, were closed on Thursday due to a lack of delivery drivers.
It is estimated that the UK is short of about 100,000 HGV drivers - with gaps made worse by the pandemic and Brexit.
Mr Cheema says he sells thousands of litres of unleaded every day, so the cost implications for him are huge.
"There could be a 40% impact on sales with this week's delivery problems. If I haven't got any liquid in the ground, I'm not making money. I can't operate the site at a loss," he said.
"If I haven't got fuel to sell, that customer isn't coming into my petrol station shop either, so I'm losing money there too."
