Councillor Andy Stafford, chairman of Worcester City Council’s environment committee, said: “This investment will really improve the experience of visitors to this much-loved park."
The site will remain open while improvements are being made but the entrance on Cromwell Crescent will be closed for two months, with alternative access offered from Foxwell Street.

A headteacher says his school is taking a cautious approach as pupils return this week.
At Chantry School in Martley, Worcestershire, Year Seven students are back, like many across England and Wales.
After a year disrupted by Covid, most restrictions have been lifted, with face mask requirements and isolation bubbles gone.
Students at Chantry have had lateral flow tests and headteacher Andy Dickenson said the school was "being cautious, we are not being cavalier".
He said: "We have to wait and see what happens to infections and I think vigilance is key, hence the lateral flow testing that is happening today."
