    Two people have been arrested following the fatal stabbing of a 17-year-old boy in Cheltenham on Sunday.

    Gloucestershire Police said they have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of murder and a 44-year-old woman on suspicious of assisting an offender.

    A £470,000-a-year contract for a local stop smoking service is being ended a year early by Somerset County Council.

    The council says it's committed to helping people quit but it has to look at all of its services and see where savings can be made. 

    Smokefreelife Somerset helped more than 1,200 people kick the habit in the last financial year.

    A 21-year-old student from Bristol has died after falling ill playing in a basketball match in Swansea.

    Dominic Newton was a student at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David where he captained the university basketball team.

    During a match on Monday evening - it is understood - he became ill and was taken to hospital in a critical condition where he later died.

  4. Bristol's 'Forrest Gump' set to finish 401st marathonpublished at 07:25 British Summer Time 5 October 2016

    It's the final day of marathons for Bristol runner Ben Smith, who has the finishing line in sight for his 401st run today.

    The real life Forrest Gump has covered more than 10,000 miles around the UK and been joined by thousands of people along the way. 

    He is raising money for anti-bullying and equality charities.
