    Green campaigners are particularly upbeat at the City Academy in Bristol.

    The party has taken both seats from Labour in Lockleaze with a comfortable majority as well as strengthening their majority in the Clifton Down ward.

    Neither of Labour's councillors, Gill Kirk and Estella Tincknell, stood for re-election and Heather Mack and David Wilcox will replace them.

    Morning all!

    Today we will be bringing you the latest on the results from Bristol City Council's elections.

    Results for 70 seats will be announced as votes are counted for 34 wards.

    In case you need to be caught up on what has happened so far over the weekend - we have got you covered:

    • Labour's Marvin Rees has been re-elected as mayor of Bristol after holding off the challenge of Green party candidate Sandy Hore-Ruthven. Read more here.
    • Labour's Dan Norris has been elected as Mayor of the West of England, gaining the position from the Conservatives. Read more here.
    • Conservatives retain power of Gloucestershire County Council.
    • The political make-up of the district and borough councils in Gloucestershire remains largely unchanged. Get the latest here.
