Swindon Borough Council has been busy distributing salt by lorry on Swindon's major routes, external. The authority also provides grit bins, external in public places for local residents to spread salt on public paths and roads themselves.

Parents who have been trying to access websites for school closures have reported them crashing.
People trying to access Gloucestershire and Somerset County Council's websites have reported the information not displaying.
They are now being advised to look at school websites and access the schools' own information networks.
