    The Conservatives will decide who they want to take over as the next leader of Wiltshire Council today.

    Baroness Jane Scott, the West Country's longest-serving council leader, is retiring from the job to spend more time in her role in the House of Lords.

    Conservative councillors will vote on her successor today, but the winner will still need to be approved in a vote by all parties next week.

    Hundreds of volunteers and workers have begun the clean-up operation at Glastonbury Festival - returning the site from the pop-up city of 200,000 people to a dairy farm.

    Recycling volunteers are using bin bags made from recycled plastic - which will later be recycled again - to hand sort rubbish left on the ground and in each of the 15,000 bins.

    In 2017, more than 60 tonnes of paper and card, 32 tonnes of glasses, 45 tonnes of cans, and 40 tonnes of plastic bottles were recycled. That year, 132 tonnes of food waste was turned into compost, while 4,500 litres of cooking oil was made into biofuel.

    Extinction Rebellion protesters said deliveries may be contravening waste regulations

    Extinction Rebellion campaigners have decided to call it a day and called off their rally at the Javelin Park Waste Incinerator near Gloucester.

    Bin lorries haven't been allowed to enter the site from this morning after being blocked by a large group of protesters.

    The campaigners wanted to inspect the waste - to make sure it didn't contain any materials that could be recycled or reused - but that's not been allowed.

    Extinction Rebellion now say they'll be back later this week.

    A large police presence is there - including two police drones.
