    There were about 20 cancellations on the Liverpool Street line after a tree fell on to overhead power lines near Bishop's Stortford.

    Police had to improvise with police tape to secure ponies that escaped from a field near Wisbech this morning.

    Officers were called when the ponies wandered onto the road at Redmoor Lane during the morning rush hour.

  8. Candle lit walk through Cambridge to remember victims of terrorismpublished at 16:08

    A silent candle lit walk is set to take place in Cambridge tonight to remember the victims of recent terror attacks.

    Around 500 people are expected to join the walk which starts on Magdalene Street at 19:45 and finishes with a vigil outside Great St Mary's Church (above).

    Organisers say say they will remembering victims of terrorism in Paris, Beirut, Sinai and Baghdad.

    Police say they are growing "increasingly concerned" for the welfare of a Lithuanian man from Wisbech who has not been seen since the end of September.

    A buyer has been found for two Cambridgeshire residential special school under threat of closure, the disability charity Scope has announced.

    Two weeks ago families of children using Meldreth Manor and Orchard Manor, external presented a petition to 10 Downing Street, to try and stop the charity closing them, for financial reasons.

    Regional director, John MacLachlan, says they have now struck a deal to sell the schools to alternative education and care provider, the Aurora Group.

    A man in his 20s is in a critical condition inAddenbrooke's Hospita, externall after his car was struck by a tree branch, causing it to leave the road and hit a lamp post.

    Emergency services were called to the scene on Madingley Road, Cambridge at 19:50.

    Barney - the second UK storm to be given a name - saw winds peak at 85mph (137km/h) on Tuesday, before conditions calmed down overnight.

    Buses have resumed running on the stretch of the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway, external where a woman in her 80s was killed yesterday evening.

    Police were called to the scene of the crash, approximately one mile north of Station Road in  Swavesey, at 17:30.

    Police say Jennifer Taylor, 81, is believed to be the first person killed on the Cambridgeshire Guided Busway since it opened in 2011.

    She was hit by a bus travelling south between Swavesey and Fen Drayton at 17:30 yesterday.
