    British Transport Police, external says a 15cm (6in) "old bullet" is being analysed after it was removed from Cambridge Station by firearms officers this morning.

    The station was evacuated this morning after workmen reported finding an "unexploded device," near platform one at 08:50.

    People punting on the River Cam today have been told to "take care," after a section of bank collapsed beside Cambridge's world-famous Mathematical Bridge.

    The Conservators of the River Cam, external, who manage the river, have written to punt operators to alert them to the incident.

    Leyton Orient have signed Peterborough defender Shaun Brisley on loan until the end of the season.

    The 25-year-old centre-back has featured just three times for Posh this season and had a loan spell at Northampton earlier in the campaign.

    "Shaun was really eager about coming, which delighted me," O's player-manager Kevin Nolan told BBC Radio London.

    A Cambridge college is inviting people to take part in an online "scavenger hunt" to spot items "hidden" within 360-degree images on Google Streetview.

    St John's College Library is among several parts of Cambridge University normally closed to the public included in the "see inside" option in Google Maps.

    The hidden objects include a towel - a tribute to Douglas Adams, author of The Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy - who studied there.

    Police say the driver's view of the road was almost completely obscured. He was reported for "a number of driving offences".

    Detectives investigating an aggravated burglary in Fordham say it is "vital" that the offenders are apprehended as soon as possible.

    A couple in their 70s were threatened and assaulted by four masked men who entered their home in the village at 18:30 on Friday.

  18. Elderly couple assaulted in robbery at home in Fordhampublished at 13:01

    An elderly couple have been injured during a break-in at their home in Fordham, external.

    Four masked intruders assaulted the man and woman, who are in their 70s, before making off with jewellery and cash at 18:30 on Friday.

    Police say they are keen to speak to anyone with information or who may have seen a vehicle on the A142 Fordham bypass at about 18.45.

  19. Wisbech out-of-hours provider must improve by Junepublished at 12:39

    Wisbech's out-of-hours GP provider has been given until June to tackle problems including "clinically unsafe" waits for some patients, first revealed by the BBC earlier this month.
