  2. Record breakers: Students break tallest paper tower recordpublished at 17:51

    Thirty students from Peterborough are celebrating after claiming they've broken the world record for the tallest tower made from paper and glue.

    The challenge was organised by Anglian Water to inspire pupils to become engineers.

    Using only scissors and glue the youngsters managed to construct a giant paper pyramid standing 3.51m (11.5ft), in just two days.

    The original is now on its way back to 8-year-old Will and 7-year-old Nathan, who lost it on Mill Road.

    A man has appeared at Cambridge Crown Court today charged with the murder of Marius Micevicius.

    Mr Micevicius, 32, was stabbed in the stomach at a house in Churchill Road in Wisbech, on Monday. He was airlifted to Queen Elizabeth Hospital in King's Lynn, but died on Wednesday.

    Sarunas Maciulis, 18, also of Churchill Road, was remanded in custody. He is next due to appear at Peterborough Crown Court on 21 March.

  13. Pedestrian killed in Gamlingay crash named by policepublished at 14:50

    A man who died following a collision in Gamlingay, involving two cars and two pedestrians, has been named as 68-year-old Martin Harker, of Green Acres, Sandy.

    A young boy, also a pedestrian, was flown to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge by air ambulance where he remains in a critical condition.   

    Police were called to the collision in Drove Road just after 10:00 on Thursday.

    The man was found by two members of the public on a footpath at the entrance to Milton Country Park at 17:00 on Wednesday.

    The death is not being treated as suspicious.

  18. Must Farm Bronze Age excavation surpassing 'wildest dreams'published at 13:12

    "I don’t think even in our wildest dreams, we thought it would be this special," a member of the team excavating Bronze Age dwellings near Whittlesey has told me.

    A team from Cambridge Archaeological Unit is leading the excavation, which has been taking place since September.

     Archaeologist Chris Wakefield  told BBC Radio Cambridgeshire the density of the finds at the site was "fantastic".
