    The duchess is a patron of the charity which runs hospices for terminally ill children, including one at Milton near Cambridge

    This afternoon she is cutting the ribbon on EACH, external's 21st charity shop - at Holt in Norfolk.

    The images show the bus approaching the dualled section of track which it makes contact with on its passenger side.

    Having lost its guide wheel the speeding bus skidded, left the track and crashed across a maintenance road before coming to rest on a verge, near Foster Road on 22 February. 

    A report by Cambridgeshire County Council concluded the driver's "excessive speed" indicated he was "either inattentive or overconfident".

    The county council report into the busway crash said it happened as the driver was moving from a single guided carriageway to a dual carriageway - a point at which he is expected to steer the vehicle to ensure correct alignment between the tracks.

    Conditions at the time were dry and visibility was good, however CCTV images "showed the bus being thrown from one side of the guideway section to the other, before being thrown onto the adjacent maintenance track and up onto the verge".

    Investigations showed the vehicle was travelling at about 53.6mph in a 30mph zone on the approach to the dualled track.

    A report into a crash on the guided busway in Cambridge has found it was "unlikely the bus was under the driver's control".

    The Cambridgeshire County Council report into the accident, which left five people injured, said it happened as the bus was moving from a single track section of busway to a dual section.

    The report concludes the driver's "excessive speed" indicated he was "either inattentive or overconfident". The driver was dismissed after the accident by operator Stagecoach.

    The widow of one of Joanne Dennehy's victims has told the BBC she has been left "wondering whether her husband would still be alive today" had probation officers "done their job properly".

    The BBC can reveal the triple killer, who dumped the bodies of three men in ditches in the Fens in 2013, was under the supervision of probation services having been given a community order for assault and being in control of a dangerous dog.

    Cristina Lee, widow of victim Kevin Lee, said she was "left numb" by the failings identified in the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Probation Trust report, which says a "more experienced offender manager" should have been appointed to deal with the "complexities" of the case.

    In the report the probation service admitted failings, but said they did not directly contribute to the killings. It has been contacted for further comment.

    The American Air Museum at Duxford is undergoing final preparations ahead of reopening to the public this weekend.

    The collection closed to the public last March to allow for the £3m redevelopment by the Imperial War Museum, and yesterday the Duke of Kent came to inspect its progress.

    The museum said the attraction will tell the story of the British-American relationship in "human terms". Nearly 20 aircraft are on display, some suspended as if in flight.

    A mother has praised an off-duty special sergeant who took a couple's six-month-old twins off the A14 to safety after her car engine started smoking.

    Fearing it would burst into flames, Nicola Smith managed to get daughters Emily and Olivia out of the car near Huntingdon. Witnessing what happened, special sergeant Paul Jenkins (pictured) pulled over and took the family to the nearby services.

    Miss Smith, terrified that the twins born seven-weeks premature would not be able to cope with the cold, praised Mr Jenkins, saying: "I genuinely believe his actions may well have saved my babies' lives that day."

    Peterborough triple killer Joanne Dennehy was under the supervision of probation workers when she murdered three men and stabbed two others in frenzied attacks three years ago, a leaked report has revealed.

    The BBC has obtained a "restricted" report by the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Probation Trust that reveals she had been identified as a potential risk for causing "serious harm".

    It admits there were some "deficiencies in practice" during the supervision, but it adds there was no evidence the errors "contributed directly" to the killings. The trust added it was "determined" to learn from the failings.

    Earlier this week, the Ministry of Justice confirmed Dennehy won legal aid to fight for compensation over being segregated in prison.
