It broke out at a property in Sedge Fen, close to the borders of Suffolk, Norfolk and Cambridgeshire, just before 20:00 last night.

Crews from the three counties attended and at its height more than 35 firefighters were at the scene.

The blaze took about five hours to put out and crews are still there.

Suffolk Police, external has also been in attendance and the scene has been cordoned off while an investigation is carried out.

Police have said that nobody is unaccounted for, but have not confirmed whether there have been any casualties.

  2. Budget Day at Cambridgeshire County Councilpublished at 08:32 Greenwich Mean Time 14 February 2017

    Hannah Olsson
    BBC Radio Cambridgeshire political reporter

It may be St Valentine's Day, but I'm not expecting any love lost at Shire Hall today, as the full council meets to decide on the budget for 2017/18.

With less money coming from central government and more demand on services, Cambridgeshire County Council says its must make cuts of £29m this year.

Shire Hall in CambridgeImage source, Duncan Grey/Geograph

The council is hung, meaning there is no overall majority and the political parties have different ideas on how much council tax we should be charged.

    • UKIP don't want any rise at all, and believes councils can be leaner and more efficient
    • The Conservative Party wants our council tax bills to go up by 2%, with the money ring-fenced for adult social care
    • The Liberal Democrats are proposing a 4% rise, saying services must be protected
    • Labour want a 5% rise - the maximum that's allowed without a referendum

It is the law that the council must have a balanced budget and last year the same meeting lasted more than eight hours... so it could be a long day!

    Adam Jinkerson
    BBC Local Live

Tesco customers at two Cambridgeshire stores may have fallen victim to promotions that had expired but were still advertised on the shelves, a BBC investigation found.

In 33 of 50 stores visited, multi-buy promotions were marked on the shelf but time-limited discounts were not applied at tills.

    What the BBC discovered:

    Tesco Superstore, Milton, Cambridge

    • East End Chilli Powder Extra Hot 100G: Offer price - 2 For £1.50 (original price £0.99). Price paid at till - £2.20 (based on new unit price of £1.10).
    • John Frieda Go Blonder Treatment 34Ml: Offer price - Save 1/3 (original price £6.66). Price paid at till - £10.00.

    • Munch Bunch Yoghurt: Although there was no price discrepancy, a label from an old offer which ended in September 2016 (that subsequently was the same as the current offer on the product) had been left on display. This could have led to a customer believing the deal may have ended when it hadn't.

Mistakes only applied to in-store offers and not those online.

Tesco said it would double-check the accuracy of pricing at all its stores.

  15. Helen Bailey murder trial: 'Nick and Joe' produced in courtpublished at 13:30 Greenwich Mean Time 13 February 2017

    Katy Lewis
    BBC Local Live

In an unexpected move, the prosecution in the trial of the fiance of Helen Bailey produced two men who they said resembled those who allegedly kidnapped her.

Ian Stewart has denied murdering the Royston children's author and making up a story she was abducted by men called Nick and Joe.

This morning, prosecutor Stuart Trimmer introduced Nick Cook and Joe Cippullo, who are known to the defendant, to St Albans Crown Court.

Mr Trimmer claimed descriptions Mr Stewart gave police matched those he knew from Bassingbourn in Cambridgeshire.

He asked Mr Stewart if "when you look back and consider descriptions you gave... do you think of them?"

Mr Stewart replied "no" and "they don't compare at all" to the alleged kidnappers.

Ms Bailey's body was found last July, along with that of her dachshund, Boris, in a cesspit at the home she shared with Mr Stewart in Royston. She had last been seen in April.

He denies drugging her before suffocating her and throwing her in the pit.

Mr Stewart told the court she had been snatched on 11 April by two men who blackmailed him and subjected him to a series of demands. He reported her missing on 15 April.

    The case continues.
