    Aaron Ginn, of AG Motors in Papworth Everard, said the gesture was a "thank you" after he received treatment for cancer last year.

    Westlife's summer stadium tour, which was scheduled to visit three venues in the East of England in June and July, has been called off.

    The Irish pop group had been due to play Carrow Road in Norwich on 19 June, Peterborough's Weston Homes Stadium on 21 June and Castle Park in Colchester on 11 July.

    The band say promoters will contact ticket holders to process refunds.

    The lambing season at Wimpole Hall, Cambridgeshire, is taking place behind locked gates, as the National Trust estate is closed to visitors.

    The farm is expecting about 300 lambs to be born, so to make sure no-one misses out, it is sharing photos and videos on its Twitter account. , external

    It said more than 30 lambs have been born so far, including a Norfolk Horn, pictured below.

    The latest figures for the number of Covid-19 deaths in the East of England has been released by the government, external.

    In the BBC East region, statistics for each NHS hospital trust show a rise of 100 deaths.

    The total number of deaths at the region's hospitals is now 1,963.

    A patient who was operated on after contracting Covid-19 has been discharged from hospital.

    Carole Pankhurst (pictured far right) is recovering, after leaving Royal Papworth in Cambridge.

    The 68-year-old former carer underwent an aortic valve replacement, but only after her surgery was delayed when it was discovered she was suffering from coronavirus.

    "I had a bad tickly cough but other than that I felt OK," she said.

    "I was more scared after waking up from my operation, but my brother-in-law has had the same surgery so I kind of knew what to expect beforehand."

    Catherine Sudarshan, consultant surgeon, said: "The credit goes to her determination, her positive attitude as well as all the staff who did a sterling job, as always, in looking after her following her surgery."

    Deaf people across the country are enjoying getting fit with Joe Wicks, because of a Cambridgeshire charity.

    The Cambridge Deaf Association, external (CDA) has helped add sign language and subtitles to Joe's popular daily fitness videos, external.

    Andy Palmer, CDA chief exec, said: "It's important that people get active, so we approached Joe's team, and they were positive about the idea.

    "We've had a great reaction and a lots of deaf people have been taking part."

    On Monday evening the government released, external its latest figures for coronavirus deaths in the UK in the past day.

    A critical care nurse with coronavirus has said being admitted to the unit where she works was "extremely comforting".

    Alison Riseley is recovering at home following treatment at Royal Papworth Hospital in Cambridge, where she has worked for 28 years, starting at its former site in Papworth Everard.

    She spent the Easter weekend at the hospital's critical care unit after testing positive for Covid-19 on 9 April.

    "It was so strange when I was told I was being taken to Royal Papworth, yet at the same time extremely comforting because it felt like I was coming home and knew I would be in the best hands," she said.

    "One of my colleagues, who is also a very good friend, came in to look after me two nights in a row, which provided me with a lot of comfort.

    “I just want to thank all staff for their excellent care and compassion."

    Ms Riseley, who had recently been off work due to her asthma, said she must have contracted the virus in the community.
