    Hatfield House in Hertfordshire has announced that its park, garden and woodland walks will reopen on 20 June.

    It said tickets must be bought in advance online and it would limit the number of tickets sold for each day "to ensure everyone enjoys the tranquility of the park whilst avoiding any crowds".

    In a Facebook, external post, it said: "We are not running a timed ticket system, so you are welcome to arrive and stay as long as you like."

    The 400-year-old Jacobean house itself will not reopen for the rest of the 2020 season and the farm park is to close permanently while it uses the time to "reflect on how the experiences we offer families and especially children can be improved", its website , externalsaid.

    As non-essential shopping looks set to resume later this month, businesses are being urged to make sure they are ready to open in a Covid-secure way.

    Tendring District Council in Essex, which covers Clacton, Frinton, Walton-on-the-Naze, Brightlingsea, Manningtree and Harwich, will install signs across town centres to remind shoppers about social distancing, while businesses are being told they have a responsibility to ensure staff and public safety in their stores, and to manage queues effectively.

    Councillor Mary Newton said: "There is a lot of useful advice available, external on practical measures retailers can put in place, and I would urge business owners to read about and implement them.

    "It’s also vital that you work with your neighbours so that your plans can be co-ordinated with theirs, such as putting queues along your shop front or one-way systems.

    "We want to see Tendring get back to business, but only when stores have appropriate measures in place – do not feel pressured to open your doors if you are not ready to do so."

    South Cambridgeshire's MP, Anthony Browne, is calling for a joined-up plan to tackle the county's water problem.

    Water companies are urging people to limit use of hoses and sprinklers as more people have been at home during the coronavirus lockdown, particularly with the recent dry weather and rivers running low.

    Mr Browne said: "It is a real, real problem and I've been talking to different water groups like the Cam Valley Forum and Water Resources East which represents all the stakeholders in the water industry.

    "I'm arranging a meeting with the water minister Rebecca Pow because what we do need is a strong water strategy to make sure that we don't extract more water than is sustainable in the long run."

    A Northamptonshire fruit farm says it will be open for people to pick their own strawberries from next week, after government lockdown rules were eased.

    Grange Farm in Harpole has been growing strawberries since 1987, and opened its gates for pick your own in 1988.

    The farm owners say they'll put measures in place to ensure social distancing, but has warned visitors to be prepared to queue.

    Water supplies in the Watford area have been affected overnight as their storage reservoir north of the town ran almost empty yesterday.

    Affinity Water said the "the high level of demand" it was experiencing was due to lockdown and more people being at home. A spokesman said the firm worked overnight to restore supplies, external.

    Last week there was a problem with a loss of water supply in Harpenden and Wheathampstead.

    Across England, people have been urged to save water as utility companies attempt to meet "sky-high" demand.

    "With the increase in people being at home and using nearly 50% more water than they normally would when its hot.

    "We currently have teams working around the clock to treat the water faster, to get it in to homes quicker, this is the reason for lower pressure."

    Mental health experts have produced a support pack for schools to help anxious pupils through their return from coronavirus lockdown.

    The Psychology in Schools Team is a pilot project by Norfolk and Suffolk NHS Foundation Trust, external operating in west Suffolk to give additional support, guidance and training for school staff.

    With reception, year one and year six pupils returning to schools this week, the team has produced a support pack distributed to all schools in Norfolk and Suffolk with the aim of helping staff support pupils with their understanding of the crisis and understand their own mental health anxieties.

    An NHS trust has reminded the public that "strict visiting restrictions" are still in place at all of its hospital sites.

    The West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust asks people not to enter its hospitals in Watford, St Albans and Hemel Hempstead "unless you fit one of the stated exceptions".

    These are:

    • The patient you wish to visit is receiving end-of-life care
    • You are the birthing partner accompanying a woman in labour
    • You are a parent or appropriate adult visiting your child on a paediatric ward
    • You are supporting someone with a mental health issue such as dementia, a learning disability or autism, where not being present would cause the patient to be distressed

    The MP for Milton Keynes South, Iain Stewart, has been appointed Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Scotland.

    He replaces Douglas Ross who resigned in protest at Boris Johnson's decision not to sack Dominic Cummings.

    Watford General Hospital has a "very colourful and vibrant addition" to its main entrance, West Herts Hospitals Trust said.

    The trust has thanked the London Flower Wall company for its "generous donation".

    The Liberal Democrat MP for St Albans, Daisy Cooper, has criticised the government's move to have insist on MPs voting in person in Parliament instead of having the option to do it from home - a measure that was brought in during the coronavirus lockdown.

    A bill to not allow remote voting passed by 261 votes to 163 in the House of Commons yesterday.

    Ms Cooper had to join a long, socially distanced, queue to vote.

    "If they want to lead by example they should be embracing digital technology and reducing the amount of commuting MPs have to make up and down the country," she said.

    "They should be reinforcing social distancing not encouraging MPs to travel the breadth and length of the country to end up being super-spreaders and putting their own communities at risk."

    Meanwhile, the Conservative MP for Harlow, Robert Halfon said he was "ashamed" of his party after the decision.

    Mr Halfon, who has cerebral palsy and has been shielding, said it was not fair on people like him who've been told to shield by medics as they're considered vulnerable to the virus.

    He decided not to travel to Westminster yesterday, so had no vote in the decision about how the House would vote in the future.

    The latest number of new daily coronavirus deaths, external has been released by the government and there was an increase of 19 deaths in the region's hospitals, taking the total number to 3,696.

    The previous day's figures recorded 18 deaths. The news deaths were at the following NHS trusts:

    ·Luton and Dunstable Hospital: 1

    ·Mid Essex Hospitals: 2

    ·North West Anglia (Peterborough and Hinchingbrooke hospitals): 5

    ·West Hertfordshire Hospitals: 1

    The total number of Covid-19 associated UK deaths now stands at 39,369.
