    The Norwich City midfielder Marco Stiepermann has revealed he was the Norwich City player who confirmed a positive test for Covid-19 last week.

    The Canaries, external say the German had shown no symptoms and subsequently has tested negative twice/

    The Premier League has granted Stiepermann permission to return to group training.

    The team returns to Premier League football on Friday, at Carrow Road, against Southampton.

  2. Zoo to reopen after three-month closurepublished at 08:28 British Summer Time 18 June 2020

    Colchester Zoo, external is reopening today, three months after it was forced to shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic.

    All tickets need to be pre-booked, and a cap of 2,000 visitors a day has been set.

    Sarah Forsyth, the venue's curator, said not all areas, including zoo buildings, would be open,

    "It's a real frustration for us as that will limit the day out for people and limit our income as well," she said.

  3. Coronavirus: 14 new deaths in the Eastpublished at 08:12 British Summer Time 18 June 2020

    The latest government figures released on Wednesday show that there were 14 more coronavirus deaths , externalin the region's hospitals, taking the total in the East of England to 3,896.

    The deaths, listed by NHS trust, were:

    • Basildon and Thurrock Hospitals: 1
    • Cambridge Hospitals (Addenbrooke's): 1
    • East and North Herts: 1
    • East Suffolk and North Essex (Ipswich and Colchester hospitals): 1
    • Kettering General: 2
    • Northampton General: 6
    • Southend: 1
    • West Suffolk (Bury St Edmunds): 1

    The total number of Covid-19 deaths across the UK now stands at 42,153.
