Two of the men suffered serious injuries with the third having more minor injuries.
The force said it wanted to hear from anyone who saw a dark-coloured vehicle leaving the scene.

E-scooters will be fitted with number plates when they return to Coventry after an initial trial had to be halted due to people riding them on pavements.
The 12-month scheme was paused after five days amid reports they were being used in pedestrianised areas - against guidelines.
The city council put the trial on hold while it reviewed how e-scooters could be used "appropriately".
Swedish company Voi, which provided the devices, said they would all have clear number plates when the trial restarted to help identify riders.
The firm said it would also have more staff on the streets to "enforce safe behaviour" and the e-scooters would not work between 22:00 and 06:00.

Zarah Sultana, Labour MP for Coventry South, said constituents had been telling her of their "distress and their despair" at not being able to book a test.
"Some can't book a test anywhere while others have booked only to be turned away, at the centres," she told MPs.
"And there are cases of people in Coventry being directed as far away as Inverness," she said, describing the system as "a complete utter farce".
Health Secretary Matt Hancock said the system was facing an "enormous challenge" after a sharp rise in demand.
He told MPs tests should be prioritised for those who needed it most, including those in care homes.

The Coventry Blaze have said it's disappointing the Elite League won't be starting again in December.
They were in third position when last season was brought to an early end because of coronavirus and managing director Mike Cowley said: "We were hopeful with the progress we'd made."
The clubs had hoped to start the new season slightly later than usual, in December, but have now voted to suspend the season.
They unanimously decided that unless they could have at least 75% of their usual number of fans, they couldn't make enough money.

A special school in Coventry has shut for two weeks after a Covid-19 outbreak.
Three positive cases have been confirmed at Castle Wood Special School, on Deedmore Road, with “several” symptomatic students or teachers.
Those suspected of having coronavirus were tested at home over the weekend with further home testing planned for Wednesday and Thursday.
Coventry City Council is yet to disclose whether the positive cases were staff or children.
However the local authority has confirmed the school has now closed for two weeks as a result and will reopen on Monday, 28 September.
