People camping around the south west had a rough night, as Storm Ellen brought strong winds and heavy rain.
At the Tencreek Holiday Park near Looe, a number of campers took refuge on the floor of the clubhouse after their tents were ravaged by the storm in the early hours.
Darryl Smith said his tent was damaged beyond repair, as he and his family chose to decamp to their car at about 03:00.
He said: "We were just concerned about keeping the kids safe." He added they may have to travel home to Coventry today if they can't find anywhere else to stay for the weekend.
Three boys have had a "lucky escape" after getting into trouble in the River Avon in Warwick,.
Crews were called to rescue the boys, who had jumped into a weir and were struggling in the fast-flowing water.
While two had been able to get themselves out, the fire service said one boy was still missing when they arrived at the scene on Thursday evening and was found "safe but shaken" further up the river.
The fire service's area manager, Paul Morley, urged parents to talk to children about the dangers of open water.

Pupils at a college in Warwickshire are in limbo as there is no timescale on when they will get their BTec results, according to the man in charge of them at their school.
Exam board Pearson pulled its BTec results on the eve of releasing them and said it would be re-grading them to bring them in line with A-levels and GCSEs.
Simon Carey, at Etone College, Nuneaton, is in charge of ensuring the quality of BTecs at the school and said his students did not know what they could do next in life.
"Their portfolio of qualifications will be empty in some places and if they are moving on to another institution where they are looking for a certain set of grades in order to get in there, or a number of points, then they have no proof whatsoever because they will be missing those qualifications for BTecs."
Pearson has apologised and acknowledged the additional uncertainty the decision would cause.

The site at Moat Street car park was initially planned for a fortnight - ending on Sunday.
