    A delegation of Chinese businessmen have made their only UK stop in Coventry and Warwickshire today as they look at investment opportunities in Europe.

    Members of the Investment Promotion Agency of Chinese Ministry of Commerce were shown around MIRA in Nuneaton as well as the Warwick Manufacturing Group, external's base at the University of Warwick.

    Retired Houston Rockets star Hakeem Olujawon (pictured), has moved his family to the West Midlands and is now putting his skills to good use by helping a small community basketball club in Birmingham.

    A revamped Butts Park Arena could be used to accommodate up to 25,000 supporters, according to Coventry Rugby Club chairman John Sharp.

    The club has been talking to the Sky Blues, external for a couple of years about training together and community work, and he feels a potential groundshare is a natural extension of their relationship.

    Any work to increase the capacity of the arena would have to be within the space they already have rather than taking on nearby land.

    Coventry Blaze's latest signing Liam Stewart says he's itching to play for the club.

    Despite being born in the UK, the 21-year-old will count as a foreign import having been raised in the USA.

    Stewart, who's the son of music legend Rod and former model Rachel Hunter, says he's over the injury that limited him to 13 appearances for the Alaska Aces last season.

    I've spoken to the chairman of Coventry Rugby Club, John Sharp, following a report the Sky Blues are closer to a potential move to the Butts Park Arena, external

    He told me that there's no definite timescale for a proposed expansion of the stadium, it could be around three years, but that there was a meeting with football club officials and architects earlier this week.

    Mr Sharp said they're at the feasibility stage and are not sure how long planning permission and building will take.

    But there is an ambition from him to produce a stadium which would suit both clubs, large enough to accommodate football crowds, but also sensitively designed so smaller rugby crowds aren't like "peas in a pod".

  16. Queen's speech: Satellite-tagged inmates could be sent home on weekdayspublished at 13:46 British Summer Time 18 May 2016

    The 63rd Queen's Speech has been delivered, detailing the laws the government is planning to introduce in the coming year.

    As part of the changes the Queen said satellite tracking tags will be used to monitor offenders in pilot schemes which could see inmates being sent home on weekdays to hold down jobs.

    The tags will watch the movements of offenders using GPS technology and will be piloted in eight police areas including Staffordshire, West Midlands and Hertfordshire from September.
