    Here's the full statement, external from Severn Trent.

    The firm says: "We’re pleased to say we’ve made very good progress with flushing our network and that after rigorous testing and sampling, the majority of our customers will be able to use their water as normal from 3pm today.

    "From this time you will need to run your cold tap at full flow for five minutes."

    We've just been told by Severn Trent that engineers have almost finished flushing the network and most people should be able to start using their water again from 15:00.

    Here's a reminder of a couple of important points we're still receiving quite a few calls about here in the BBC Derby newsroom.

    Firstly, not every individual postcode in the five listed postcode areas - DE11, DE15, DE65, DE73 and LE65 - is affected. Check the full list here, external.

    Secondly, if you live in one of the affected postcodes but have your water supplied by South Staffs Water then you are free to continue using your water as normal.

    I liked the style of one lady who was interviewed by BBC Radio Derby's Heidi Booth at Sainsbury's in Swadlincote this morning.

    Barbara said she and her husband coped with the loss of water by having spritzers instead.

    Severn Trent says it has made at least 48,000 litres of bottled water available to affected customers. The emergency supplies are being handed out at Sainsbury's in Swadlincote and Tesco in Ashby-de-la-Zouch.

    Sainsbury's in Swadlincote is busier than it was last night. The queue along the car park is extremely long and people are arriving with trolleys, baskets and bags to try to get as much water as they can to take back home.

    A lot of people I spoke to said they begrudged not being able to have their morning cup of tea or coffee to start the day with.

    One caller to BBC Radio Derby complained his attempt to collect emergency bottled water from Sainsbury's in Swadlincote had been "a nightmare".

    Nigel, from Woodville, said: "Civic Way can be a bottleneck and it's been absolutely dreadful to get down there to pick up water."

    This was the scene early this morning at Sainsbury's in Swadlincote where Severn Trent is giving out free bottles of water to those affected by the chlorine problem.
