    It will also hear from the employment agencies who provide workers to the Shirebrook Sports Direct warehouse.

    Mike Ashley said he will not be at next week's session because the legal representative who he wishes to accompany him is unavailable.

    Mr Ashley had been issued with a summons in March after he failed to commit to a date to appear before the Committee. 

    The request to attend followed allegations concerning the working practices at Sports Direct's Shirebrook warehouse in Derbyshire.

    Strong words from the Business Select Committee Chairman, Iain Wright, following confirmation that Sports Direct's Mike Ashley will not be attending the committee hearing on Tuesday.

    "Business leaders regularly come before the Committee and answer our questions. Sir Philip Green, for example, has agreed to attend as part of our joint inquiry into BHS. 

    "Does Mr Ashley, owning and operating a business in a parliamentary democracy, see himself as being beyond such public scrutiny? What has he got to be frightened of? 

    "The Committee will decide on the next steps when it meets next week."

    School support staff in Derby have voted to take strike action over the city council's equal pay review. 

    A new pay scale was introduced on Tuesday, after years of preparations. 

    Around 2,000 staff have seen their pay cut as a result of it. The union Unison says 87% of its members backed industrial action.

    The Colin Bloomfield sun meter was officially unveiled by John Williams (pictured with his wife Linda) who says the coverage of the former presenter's illness helped save his life by ensuring his own melanoma was diagnosed at an early stage.

    A new sun meter has just been unveiled at Markeaton Park - paid for by the Colin Bloomfield Melanoma Appeal.

    The former BBC Radio Derby presenter set up the fundraising appeal prior to his death last year from skin cancer.

    The meter - the first to be installed in a public space in the UK - advises people what action to take depending on the strength of the sun.

    Since last Friday, 12 lorry loads of the fly-infested rubbish have been removed.

    It's estimated that it will take over 200 lorry trips to a landfill site in Nottingham before the rubbish is completely gone.

    It is because the Environment Agency have given Shows Waste Management over a month to clear all the rubbish from the site.

    This UV sun meter that is going to be unveiled in later in Markeaton Park later sounds like a rather impressive piece of kit. 

    Apparently, it advises people on what action to take depending on the strength of the sun, such as going into the shade or putting on sun cream, via a series of coloured lights.
