  18. Complications in fixing Chester Green burst water mainpublished at 12:32 Greenwich Mean Time 22 March 2017

    Khia Lewis-Todd
    BBC Local Live

This 10-inch wide pipe - which burst at the weekend, damaging homes - has caused Severn Trent workers a bit of a headache.

Because the pipe has an unusual curve and isn't a standard fitting, it's taking longer to fix the problem on Mansfield Road in Chester Green than expected.

A spokesman said they need to make sure nothing is there that shouldn't be and they are making sure everything is clear from a larger pipe which the 10-inch pipe connects to.

But they are confident the service will resume later on today.

Householders experiencing low pressure will find things back to normal once the repair is complete.

The road closure will remain closed and may reopen by the weekend Severn Trent said.
