  1. Birstall explosion: One person unaccounted for and three injured

    One person is unaccounted for after the explosion in Birstall, according to Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service.

    Three people have been reported injured - one has been taken to hospital and two were treated at the scene.

    The explosion happened in Allington Drive at about 07:30.

    A number of houses in Allington Drive have been evacuated as a precaution.

    A 14-year-old cyclist has died after a crash involving a bus in Beeston.

    Nottinghamshire Police said it happened on Queen's Road West on Saturday night.

    The girl was taken to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham but died yesterday afternoon.

    The A5004 Long Hill at Buxton remains closed today because of icy conditions but all other main routes remain open, according to Derbyshire County Council.
