Liz Kendall, MP for Leicester West, said: "You know this is all about Boris Johnson trying to get headlines because he still wants to be Prime Minister of this country.

"People know it is all about him and that is what, I feel, a lot of people in the NHS will feel aggrieved about".

Kiran Daudia's body was discovered in a suitcase on 17 January 2017, in an alley close to her Leicester home.

Leicester Crown Court heard their son Shivam, 18, recall his mother laughing about her ex-husband and saying, "what if he ends up killing me?".

He also said 51-year-old Ashwin Daudia - who denies murder - physically and verbally abused his mother.

On the day she vanished, Ashwin had come and gone from the house about four times, Shivam said.

Taking the witness stand, he rejected defence suggestions Ashwin had been bullied by the rest of the family.

    The trial continues.

Speaking to The Independent, Jon Lansman also rejected, external reports that the group's supporters had drawn up a de-selection hit-list of 50 centrists.

"The Momentum leadership are constantly obsessing about process," Mr Leslie said.

"It is an attempt to instill fear into every single member of the Parliamentary Labour Party, whether they are on the frontbench or the backbench, that the threat to their job is always there if they dare disagree".
