Volunteers who run Hough Mill in Swannington got a bit of a shock at the weekend when they discovered a bird nest had been built inside the engine compartment of one of their dumper trucks.

It comes a year after birds built a nest inside a safety helmet at the 19th Century windmill.

  12. Analysis: Who will take charge of Derby City Council?published at 08:08 British Summer Time 8 May 2018

    Chris Doidge
    BBC Radio Derby, political reporter

Who will lead Derby now? A wounded Labour party, some of whom can see the benefits of withdrawing from the firing line for a while, or the Conservatives - who had a good election, but didn't win overall control.

The Conservatives seem closer to potential partners the Lib Dems on several issues like the Assembly Rooms, increased neighbourhood working, and the style in which the council should be run.

A deal between them, perhaps including UKIP too, is one option.

Labour has to choose a new leader, and decide whether to try and do a deal, or go into opposition - I understand the leader's likely to be one of Sinfin's Baggy Shanker (pictured) or Darley's Lisa Eldret.
