    A 54-year-old man is being treated in hospital for serious burns after an assault in the early hours of this morning.

    Police have said it happened at a property in Cinderhill Walk, Bulwell, at about 04:00.

    A 48-year-old man's been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

    The HM Inspectorate of Prisons believes the ban as well as an influx of younger prisoners and new psychoactive drugs is fuelling fights.

    The prison service has said it would "continue to prioritise safety".

    A 19-year-old man has been charged after the body of a woman was found at a house in Leicester.

    The deceased woman, believed to be in her 20s, was found by police in a bedroom of a property on Hoby Street on Sunday evening.

    A post-mortem examination was inconclusive and further tests are now being carried out, police said.

    Karol Leszczynski, 19, was charged with preventing a lawful and decent burial of a dead body.

    He will appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court later.

    A second man, aged 30, was also arrested but released with no further action.

    This message, written in toilet roll, was found on the floor of a shared bathroom at the University of Nottingham.

    It's since been removed but it's caused widespread revulsion on social media, with people calling it "absolutely vile" and "disturbing".

    Queenie Djan, president of the university's feminist society, said she was "disgusted".

    She added: "A part of me isn't completely shocked and I feel the uni isn't taking enough steps to combat this. This isn't the first time views similar to this have been expressed."

    The university called the message, left in the Florence Boot Hall toilets, "disgusting" and said it's started an investigation.

    It tweeted , externalthat it has been removed and "doesn't reflect the values of the uni and the behaviour we expect within our community".

    "Misogyny is a hate crime in Nottingham, you can report it to the uni and we'll support you and make sure the problem is dealt with," it said.
