  1. Maguire 'in a bubble' during World Cup tournamentpublished at 09:53 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    BBC Leicester Sport

Leicester City's Harry Maguire took a break from training for a game of darts in front of the cameras yesterday, and said the England side are "preparing well for a massive game" with Croatia tomorrow.

It's the first time the Three Lions have reached the semi-final in a major tournament since 1996, and the first in a World Cup since 1990.

He said: "At the moment I'm in a bubble. I'm in a whirlwind, and maybe in a few years time I'll look back and that's when I'll realise the achievement that I've made.

"My family are really proud and hopefully I can keep on and be more successful than what I am now."

The taxi driver whose vehicle was damaged in Nottingham's Market Square on Saturday afternoon has said people who have raised money for him are "showing true English spirit".

Asrif Qureshi's windscreen and roof were smashed when England fans swarmed into the streets after the semi-final win over Sweden.

Mr Qureshi said he's been left with with no source of income, but so far more than £2,700 has been raised for him.

Mr Qureshi told BBC Radio Nottingham: "These are the people who represent English society, not the ones who damaged my car.

"How can they justify what they have done? I can't comprehend why they have to take this out on a car."

Amazon the Gnome has become well known in West Bridgford for supporting different sporting and charity events all year round.

He was dressed in a Union Jack shirt for the Olympics and also did his bit for Red Nose Day last year.

Now he's been decorated with flags and signs for the World Cup - but with the semi-final looming he's still without an England shirt!

His owner, Geraldine Ellis, who lives in Cambridge Road, said people always stop and take selfies with him but she's "left it too late" to get him a shirt and "kept forgetting."

  4. 'Success' for city's electric bike schemepublished at 09:01 British Summer Time 10 July 2018

    BBC Radio Derby

Organisers of Derby's new e-bikes say they have travelled 6,000 miles since being introduced 10 days ago, with some people riding the bikes on journeys as long as 12 miles.

They say they've been "blown away" by the demand for the electric bikes in the city and have asked people to be patient while they roll out more.

Tim Caswell, from ebikes Derby, said: "This is the first time we have used these bikes in the UK and we are finding a lot more usage than we thought.

"So we've got to re-work how we're operating to make sure bikes are out."

He also said they are looking at better and more efficient ways of charging the bikes.

Police have released these CCTV images of people they want to speak to about an attack on a taxi in Nottingham on Saturday afternoon - as England fans celebrated their World Cup quarter-final win over Sweden.

Insp Phil Grimwade said he appreciated the images were "not of the best quality" but he hoped someone would recognise the men.
