    A 17-year-old boy has been charged following a city centre fight.

    The charges relate to a fight involving a group of men which happened in Burton Street, Nottingham at about 16:00 on Friday 8 March, in which a man suffered a stab wound to his arm.

    The boy, who cannot be named because of his age, appeared at Nottingham Magistrates' Court on Saturday, charged with wounding and possession of a offensive weapon.

    He has been remanded in custody to appear at the same court on Wednesday.

    Mansfield Town has been named the most family-friendly club in League Two, external.

    The club was honoured by the EFL for initiatives including a bad language-free zone in the Quarry Lane End, free fruit giveaways for children and a refurbished family room with a quiet area for children prone to sensory overload on matchdays.

    Police want to speak to this man after "offensive letters" were repeatedly put through a Derbyshire door.

    Officers said they contained offensive language and were posted to the home in Chellaston between November and December last year. It is being treated as harassment.

    Police would not reveal the content of the letters apart from to confirm they are not racist but said the residents are being "targeted".

    Almost £250,000 in compensation was paid to people who sued Leicestershire Police in 2018.

    The payments were made to members of the public, including victims of crime, who took civil action against the force.

    One payment involved a children's home resident who was abused in 2009 by a sex offender housed in a flat risk-assessed by the force.

    Another related to an adult who reported being the victim of historical sex abuse but the case was discontinued after the assigned officer failed to investigate appropriately.

    A Leicestershire Police spokesperson said the £249,093 paid out in 2018 equated to 0.14% of the force's budget.

    They continued: "In common with all police forces, we receive a number of claims for compensation annually.

    "All claims are taken seriously and are reviewed to assess whether they contain allegations which may represent misconduct."

    Two staff members were attacked during a burglary at a taxi office in Leicester, external.

    Police said five men entered the office, in Dillon Road, New Parks, at about 01:00 on Sunday and attacked a male worker with a crowbar.

    A woman was then attacked in a rear office before the group took money and left. Neither worker received life-threatening injuries.

    A Volvo car believed to have been used by the men was later found crashed in Stenson Road.

    No arrests have been made. Police have appealed for witnesses.

    A person made two emergency calls to Nottinghamshire Police asking for them to help with their blocked toilet.

    In the first call made, they said: "My toilet is blocked and someone has come round but they can't fix it and it's still flooding my home."

    Twelve hours later, they called back saying they were "still waiting for someone to come and repair it."

    The force released information about the call as part of a plea for people to use 999 responsibly.

    Bromley House Library is set to have its 267-year-old roof replacing after receiving a grant from Historic England.

    The private, members-only library in Angel Row is Nottingham's oldest and was established in 1816, with the listed building dating back to 1752.

    Melanie Duffill-Jeffs, library director, said: "This is a huge moment in our history. After many years of struggling by with leaks and structural problems, we can finally secure the future of the Library."

    At the end of March, some of the collections will be moved into storage ahead of the £550,000 repairs being carried out, which is expected to be finished by Christmas.

    Four rivers in the East Midlands are at risk of flooding following heavy rain this weekend.

    The government has issued an amber flood alert - meaning flooding is possible - for the River Trent out of Newark, the River Wye in Derbyshire, the Lower Derwent as it passes through Derby and the River Trent from Willington to Castle Donnington.

    A man has been arrested after an assault left two people unconscious.

    A man and a woman were punched in the head in Long Row, Nottingham, outside the Primark store and were taken to hospital.

    The woman has since been discharged and the man's injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

    A 20-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of assault, remains in custody.

    A man from Nottingham is one of four people due to stand trial accused of being a member of banned far-right group National Action.

    Connor Scothern, 18 and from Nottingham, is accused of being a member of National Action between December 2016 and September 2017.

    He is due to appear at Birmingham Crown Court later alongside Mark Jones, 24, and 22-year-old Alice Cutter - both from Sowerby Bridge, near Halifax - and Garry Jack, 23, from Shard End in Birmingham.

    A motorist involved in a car crash called the police suspecting the other driver was drunk - only to be charged with drink-driving himself.

    Derbyshire police were called to a "minor collision" just off the M1 near Long Eaton at about 17:30 yesterday.

    The 46-year-old driver of a Peugeot 207 and 60-year-old driver of a Vauxhall Agila were both charged with driving while over the alcohol limit.

    Derbyshire police said "you couldn't make this up".

    A vigil was held in Leicester yesterday for the victims of the New Zealand terror attack.

    Hundreds attended the event on Evington Road, organised by the Leicester Council of Faiths and the Federation of Muslim Organisations.

    Fayyaz Suleman, chairman of Leicester Council of Faiths, said: "More needs to be done to tackle the hate and the prejudice that exists among the different people who have different grievances."

    A minute's silence was held in tribute to the 50 people who died in last week's attack.

    Historic cellars, chambers and passages under Nottingham are being unearthed - and could, once again, be opened for all.

    As the Flying Horse Walk shopping arcade is marking its 30th anniversary, excavation work is under way in the area once occupied by the Flying Horse Inn which dates back to the 15th Century.

    Angelo Trivigno, who owns the Gigi Bottega clothing store, said: "Flying Horse was built on these two old town houses and these [caves] were used to store wine and food. We've discovered 80m worth of walk through the caves, we are planning to be open to the public."

    Concern is growing for a man who went missing from Top Valley.

    Daniel Smith, 39, was last seen leaving his home at 10:30 yesterday, possibly heading towards Nottingham city centre.
