  1. Fears for job losses at Cornish laundry firmpublished at 10:40

    Berendson, which owns the Cornish Linen Service at Pool, has denied it's considering large scale redundancies.

    The company has confirmed it's looking at moving the workwear element of the business to another site and a consultation process is under way with affected staff members. 

    It says the hospitality side of the business will stay at Pool and continue to be a major employer in the area.

    The region's MPs say they'll be keeping up the pressure at Westminster today for money to help facilitate rail improvements in the South West.

    Those overseeing a bid for more investment say studies into faster journey times and electrification are crucial. 

    But the Government said it won't provide the cash for the research. Politicians and business groups across the region say ministers need to rethink their decision.

    Torquay United have signed midfielder Josh Rees on loan from Nottingham Forest until the end of the season.

    The 22-year-old began his professional career at Arsenal and has made one substitute appearance for Championship side Forest, back in May 2014.

    A search continues for a man in the water in Truro after the emergency services were called to reports of two men in the water there at about 07:00 this morning.

    One of the men - a 28-year-old - has now been rescued.

    Thousands of drivers face more traffic headaches on a Devon main road because repairs planned to end in March will not start until April.

    Traffic lights were placed on the A379 near Yealmpton in Devon in March 2015 after the road started subsiding. 

    Repairs were due to be finished by 31 March this year, but Devon County Council has admitted that problems mean a delay for about 6,000 drivers on the road every day.

    - Exeter there's been a collision inbound on the A376 from Clyst St Mary towards Sandygate.

    - The B3344 through centre of Chudleigh Knighton is closed due to a dangerous building

    - In Truro, the Malpas Road is closed affecting Trafalgar Roundabout due to a search and rescue operation by the emergency services.  

    - In Clyst St Mary the A376 is partially blocked by an accident westbound between the roundabout and heading towards the M5.

    - In Four Lanes the temporary traffic lights at Whitcross Hill and Loscombe Road are stuck on red . Proceed with care.

    One man has been pulled to safety by the emergency services after a search of the estuary in Truro. The search continues because of initial reports that two men were in the water.

    A huge search involving all emergency services is underway in Truro because of fears two men are stuck in the river. Police have closed the Malpas road while the Coastguard helicopter hovers over BBC Radio Cornwall.

  10. Major disruption in Truro as helicopter searches for two men in riverpublished at 08:23

    The emergency services are searching the Truro river after reports of two men in the water.

    A Coastguard helicopter, police, fire crews and paramedics are involved. 

    Police have closed the Malpas road while the helicopter hovers over the river above the BBC Radio Cornwall studios.
