Alcohol confiscation 'helps cut anti-social behaviour'published at 13:17 Greenwich Mean Time 1 February 2017
Police in Newquay say using legal powers to confiscate alcohol from people drinking in public has been successful in tackling anti-social behaviour problems.
It comes as incidents of street drinking more than doubled in Cornwall in the past three years according to official figures.
The Safer Cornwall partnership research shows the biggest increases are in Camborne, Falmouth and Penzance.
Agencies are putting together a new strategy for dealing with anti-social behaviour - and are asking the public for their views.
