Falmouth Rugby Club will not hold any events until public health officials are satisfied a deep clean has taken place after visitors were struck down with suspected norovirus.
At least 15 people have reported feeling ill since two events at the venue over the weekend. On Saturday there was a drum and bass night, with a christening on Sunday.
Club chairman James Instance said: "Falmouth RFC would like to reinforce the advice given by the public health professionals, whom we have been in close consultation with since we received reports of people becoming ill.
"The safety of our guests and customers is our absolute priority, so we have closed the club to the public pending results of their investigations and shortly will be undertaking a deep commercial clean of the premises, which will be carried out by a professional contractor."
Public Health England and Cornwall Council are investigating.
