"I've got a lot of following from north Devon and Bideford, people travel all the way up," he told BBC Sport.

"They've not got a boxer from down there really, so the whole area's behind me - they all show a huge amount of support. When I get to go home and celebrate with them all, that's always good as well."

  13. Murder accused 'jealous of new relationship'published at 16:11 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    Press Association

A man killed his former partner because he was jealous of her new relationship, a court has heard.

Exeter Crown Court has been told Kostadin Kostov, 43, had an "unhealthy and obsessive interest in Gergana Prodanova" after the 38-year-old mother-of-three found love with another Bulgarian man in Exeter.

"On August 4 last year Ms Prodanova disappeared in Exeter," said Simon Laws QC, prosecuting.

"She had not been in this country very long but she had made a small circle of friends and she had started a relationship with a man. She had a job and she was a dependable employee, so her new friends and her colleagues were surprised at her disappearance.

"Then messages were sent by text and Facebook that looked as if they came from her. Those messages were intended to explain her sudden absence. Nearly a fortnight later her body was found here in Exeter.

"It was concealed in a suitcase by the side of the railway not far from the prison. She had not disappeared at all. She had been killed by the defendant."

Mr Kostov denies murder and the trial continues.

  15. Analysis: Green pact with Labourpublished at 15:54 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    Martyn Oates
    BBC South West Political Editor

The Greens are hoping to arrange deals locally with Labour on targeting marginal seats - including Plymouth Sutton Devonport - the most marginal seat in the South West.

    Oliver ColvileImage source, Conservative Party

It's traditionally a Tory Labour contest. The Conservative defender Oliver Colvile held on in 2015 but by just 523 votes.

The Greens got more than 500 so the logic's pretty obvious.

Arguably the perfect seat for this is St Ives in Cornwall which was Lib Dem from 1997 to the last election.

There the Green vote alone, had it switched to the Lib Dems, would have seen the Lib Dem holder hold the seat.

And the previous Lib Dem MP Andrew George has done lots of campaigning with the Green Party's Caroline Lucas so there could be a perfect fit there.

  16. Suitcase murder: Couple had 'complex and troubling relationship'published at 15:43 British Summer Time 20 April 2017

    Press Association

A mother was killed by her former partner who stuffed her body into a suitcase before dumping it near train tracks, a court has heard.

Gergana Prodanova, 38, went missing on 4 August last year from the home she shared with her ex-partner, Kostadin Kostov, who is on trial at Exeter Crown Court accused of murdering her.

Simon Laws, QC, prosecuting, said the couple had been in a relationship for 15 years prior to Ms Prodanova moving to Exeter, Devon, in December 2015.

"It was a complex and very troubling relationship," said Mr Laws. "He had used physical violence against her on a number of occasions.

"He was a jealous and controlling man. He would lose his temper, especially when he had had a drink, and he would hit her. She stuck with him for many years. She seems to have found it very hard to break free from him."

The jury heard Ms Prodanova moved to England on her own, leaving Kostov and her children at home in Bulgaria and soon formed a relationship with another man, who Mr Laws said treated her "kindly" and made her happy.

Mr Kostov denies murder and the trial continues.

Prosecutor Simon Laws QC told the jury her body was found near the railway line next to Exeter prison last August and that the motive for the murder was "old fashioned jealousy".

Kostov, of Mount Pleasant Road, Exeter, denies her murder and the trial continues.
