Dozens of crabs and lobsters have died after being trapped in "ghost fishing gear" in Falmouth Bay.

The huge plastic mono-filament, which stretched hundreds of metres, was hauled up by volunteer divers near Rosemullion Head.

Mark Milburn was one of the scuba team that discovered the net and used a winch to drag it up. He told the BBC discarded nets can have a devastating impact on sea life.

There was at least 25 spider crabs, brown crabs and lobsters in it, but all along the length of it there were parts of crabs. Of course, it's caught them, they've died, and other crabs have come along to eat them, they get caught and it's a never-ending process.
