    An inquest into the death of a one-month-old baby who died after being dropped in St Blazey has been hearing transcripts from when his mother gave interviews to police.

    Cooper Johnson-Hicks died on 26 June 2016 after an incident at their home in St Blazey.

    Tristan Hicks, Cooper's father, took his own life weeks later, having been also been questioned by police on suspicion of murder.

    Bryony Johnson told officers she was out at the time that Cooper was dropped by Mr Hicks, and that he didn't tell her about it for more than six hours.

    She said "if I'd known Tristan has dropped him on his head I'd have called the ambulance straight away".

    Mr Hicks told police he had told Miss Johnson that he'd tripped over a Moses basket causing Cooper to land on his head, shortly after it happened, at around 10:00 in the morning.

    "That is a lie" she said, adding "he did not tell me as soon as I got back".

    An ambulance was not called until 13:49 BST after Cooper stopped breathing. He died in hospital later that day from serious head injuries.

    Miss Johnson said Mr Hicks was too scared to tell her about what had happened, and instead his mother, Petra Hicks had to do so. This happened outside the Royal Cornwall Hospital at about 16:30, she told police.

    Police investigating at fatal stabbing at Plymouth train station have appealed for witnesses or information after "an attack on a man in broad daylight at a busy station in Devon".

    Detectives from British Transport Police (BTP) and Devon and Cornwall Police are investigating the death after the man, in his 40s, died after being injured just before 10:00.

    Det Ch Insp Paul Langley, of BTP, said: "We are now asking anyone who may have been at Plymouth station this morning and witnessed what happened to come forward and speak to us. Any information, no matter how small, could prove vital in our inquiries."

    A 29-year-old local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

    The two men involved are also believed to have known each other.

    A man who died after a stabbing at Plymouth railway station suffered head and shoulder injuries, ambulance service staff say.

    The man, in his 40s, was injured just before 10:00. He later died and British Transport Police (BTP) said, external they were trying to identify him.

    South Western Ambulance Service said paramedics were called at 09:58 to help two male casualties, one with minor injuries and another with head and shoulder injuries.

    "We attended with two ambulances and one rapid response vehicle," the spokesman said. "Both casualties were taken in to Derriford Hospital for treatment."

    BTP said that a 29-year-old local man arrested on suspicion of murder was taken to hospital for treatment to a hand injury.

    Station access has been restricted after a man was stabbed on its concourse, later dying from injuries, police say.

    A 29-year-old man from Plymouth was arrested at the scene and taken into custody.

    Train services are still running as normal, track operator Network Rail said, external.

    However, the ticket office is "off-limits until further notice, so passengers can't buy or collect tickets there", it added.

    A snake owner sawed and hammered holes in his ceiling to recapture an escaped 13ft python.

    Satan the snake escaped into the wall cavities of a block of Exeter flats on Friday night.

    Reptile-lover Samuel Maule, 20, told us his beloved rescue snake slipped through a hole in the wall behind the toilet after he had been trying to wash her shedded skin off in the bath.

    Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service, who attended with the RSPCA, said neighbours were all "given the option whether they wanted to leave".

    Samuel managed to recapture Satan with friends late on Sunday night after sawing and hammering large holes in his ceiling - and she is now in the care of a local reptile shop while he "works on a solution" to living with her again.

    Devon and Cornwall Housing have not yet commented.

    Labour Party campaigners have started a petition arguing that second homes are pushing up the prices of all housing in Cornwall, not just in resorts such as St Ives (pictured) and St Mawes.

    Labour Councillor Cornelius Olivier said it was a fair proposal if the money raised was spent properly.

    He said: "I think it's fair if the money is used to provide housing because, whatever economic benefits we get from holiday lets, the impact they have on the housing market down here - and the availability of housing for local families - is enormous."

    A man arrested after a stabbing at Plymouth railway station has also been taken to hospital, police say.

    The 29-year-old was arrested after emergency services were called to an incident at the station at about 10:00.

    A man in his 30s was taken to hospital after suffering "life-threatening injuries", British Transport Police said, external.

    The force said the arrested man was also taken to hospital to have a hand injury examined and then would be taken to a Devon and Cornwall Police custody suite before being questioned.

    Police have appealed for witnesses.

    Emergency services were called to the station at about 10:00 after reports of the stabbing on the station's concourse, British Transport Police said, external.

    A man in his 30s has been taken to hospital and a 29-year-old local man has been arrested and is in police custody.

    An 82-year-old man is in hospital with life-threatening injuries after his car was in a collision with a lorry on the A361 in Devon on Monday, police say.

    The man's Vauxhall Zafira and the Scania tipper truck crashed at the North Molton junction, near South Molton, at about 11:10.

    He was taken to North Devon District Hospital with chest and head injuries after being cut from his vehicle. His condition is described as stable.

    The road was closed for about five hours for an investigation. Police have appealed, external for witnesses and any dashcam footage.

    The A361 has seen other major crashes recently.

    A woman and her young twins from the Milton Keynes area died as a result of a crash which saw her collide with an oncoming lorry near Barnstaple on 31 July.

    A woman and two children were injured in a crash on the same stretch of the North Devon Link Road the day before. A nine-year-old girl died two days later.
