    Trains between London Waterloo, Salisbury and Exeter St Davids may be delayed or revised because a vehicle has struck a bridge, external at Crewkerne, causing disruption to trains between Yeovil Junction and Exeter St Davids, National Rail says.

    Disruption is expected to continue until 11:00.

    A family of rare bats have made their home in the belly of a fibreglass dinosaur at a north Devon theme park.

    The triceratops at Combe Martin's wildlife park is now an official lesser horseshoe bat roost.

    Owners would have to get a special licence to move the prehistoric beast.

    Kaiyne Woolery scored on his Swindon debut as they drew with Exeter at the County Ground at the weekend.

    He struck 10 minutes into the second half to cancel out Liam McAlinden's first-half opener as the points were shared.

    Exeter started quickly and almost went ahead 22 minutes in when Troy Brown's effort was blocked on the line.

    The visitors deservedly took the lead in the 28th minute. Lawrence Vigouroux parried Reuben Reid's strike onto the post, but McAlinden was on hand to volley in the rebound.

    Four minutes later Swindon had the ball in the net, but Harry Smith's effort was disallowed for handball.

    Swindon boss David Flitcroft brought on Luke Norris and new signing Woolery at half-time, and the two linked up to bring the hosts level on 56 minutes.

    A new wave of rural crime is hitting the countryside here in the South West, according to rural insurance company NFU Mutual.

    It claimed statistics for the first half of this year showed a sharp rise of more than 20%, and that Cornwall was being targeted harder than Devon.

    Thieves were continuing to target Land Rovers, quad bikes, tractors, tools and livestock, the company added.

    A project to extract lithium from hot springs in Cornwall has received a £1m investment to explore the viability of breathing new life into an age-old industry.

    Lithium is found in water in many Cornish mines. Company Cornish Lithium said the county was the only current known source in the UK.

    The element is used for electric vehicles and battery energy storage.

    The global demand for lithium is expected to triple in the next decade.

    A cyber security expert from Devon accused of creating and selling malware that steals banking passwords is due to appear at a US court later.

    Marcus Hutchins, previously hailed a hero for derailing a global computer attack that wreaked havoc in the NHS, is expected to enter pleas at the hearing in Milwaukee.

    He was arrested earlier this month as he prepared to fly from Las Vegas where a friend said he had been attending the Def Con hacking convention.

    The 23-year-old faces six counts, dated between July 2014 and July 2015, of creating and selling a malware known as Kronos. His lawyer previously said his client would deny all the allegations.

    Mr Hutchins, from Ilfracombe, was widely celebrated for finding a "kill-switch" that curbed the WannaCry ransomware that infected more than 300,000 computers in 150 countries and crippled the NHS in May.

    One of the main acts at Newquay's Boardmasters Festival had to pause his set after a "brief surge" at the front of the crowd last night.

    In a post on the festival's Facebook page, external, organisers of the event said it happened "due to massive excitement" at the start of grime artist Stormzy's set, and that those involved were "immediately assisted by the pit team".

    The team went on to thank Stormzy for pausing his set to calm the audience.
