The wife of a Cornish paramedic who took his own life has welcomed £80,000 worth of government money being spent to tackle suicide prevention among emergency service workers in the South West.
The money is going to a local charity programme, Pete's Dragon, based in Exmouth.
It will be used to train police officers, firefighters and paramedics to spot signs and intervene.
Del Wilton started to struggle with his mental health after witnessing "tragic" incidents at work and he took his own life in August 2013.
His wife, Nel said Del's work "led to a change in him".
"Looking back you can see he wasn't quite the life and soul that he'd been before and that's when he started making mistakes at work as well," she said.
