Bayram Erdogan was on the A30 near Honiton when he dodged police attempts to stop him and his girlfriend Bethany Morris threw two packages of drugs out of the car window.

Police had intelligence that the car was bringing drugs to Exeter and it was followed on the A303 by an unmarked car before marked police units tried to stop it after if headed into Honiton.

Erdogan, 20, of Downs Park Road, Hackney, admitted possession of heroin and cocaine with intent to supply, personal possession of cannabis, dangerous driving, and having no insurance or licence.

Morris, 29, of Bonners Glen, Axminster, pleaded guilty to two counts of being concerned in the supply of class A drugs and permitting Erdogan to drive without insurance.

Erdogan was jailed for three years and four months and banned from driving for a year after his release by Judge David Evans at Exeter Crown Court.

Morris was bailed pending an assessment for drug rehabilitation treatment.

After finding out her fiance had been cheating, Catherine Jarvis set his house on fire.

Services on two community bus routes in Devon are being suspended for at least four months, it has been announced.

Ourbus Torbay says the 60 and 65 services - which run between Paignton and Torquay, and Torbay Hospital and Torquay Harbour - have been running with nine out of 10 passengers only paying concessionary fares - at a loss of more than £1,000 per week for the company.

It says it will suspend services from 8 December and look for more ways to fund them.

Residents in a village near Exeter are facing a race against time to save their local pub - for the second time.

Villagers took over the running of the Stoke Canon Inn in the Exe Valley in 2011 after it closed - the owner at the time gave them a lease so they could reopen it.

Since then, it has been running successfully as a volunteer-staffed community pub.

But now the owner wants to put it on the market which means locals have two months to find £150,000 to buy it.

The temporary attractions on Exmouth seafront - which included a dinosaur-themed play park - are set to return for another year.

Planning permission for the Queen's Drive space, which replaced the former Fun Park, was granted in April for one year while regeneration plans for the seafront come forward.

Phase one of the regeneration - the relocation of the road - is about to begin, while planning permission for phase two - the watersports centre - has been granted.

Plans for phase three, the mixed-use leisure zone, will not be developed in time for next summer though.

Therefore, East Devon District Council have submitted plans to continue the temporary uses on the site until March 2020.

The big wheel will also be coming back for next summer, as plans have already been approved.

It comes as a survey commissioned by East Devon District Council found 77% of users said their expectations of the site were "exceeded" and almost every user said they would use a similar type of site at Queen's Drive Space if it was provided again next year.

The plans will go before the council's own development management committee at a later date.

A new batch of recycled bicycles are being snapped up by riders in Torbay.

Six were delivered to Torbay Velopark - at Torbay Leisure Centre in Paignton - from the recycling workshop at Channings Wood Prison near Newton Abbot.

The bicycles are sent to the prison by contractor Tor2 after being collected at the Torbay Council waste recycling centre.

The machines are then restored by inmates and are put up for sale at £17.50 each.

They are sold on a first-come, first-served basis and cannot be reserved.

The scheme has won a national recycling award for "best partnership".

People living near the Davidstow creamery in north Cornwall say a foul smell is blighting their lives.

The Dairy Crest factory is a large local employer and it purchases milk from around 300 farmers from the area.

The company's brands include the UK's leading cheese, Cathedral City.

It says reducing the environmental impact of the creamery is a key part of a planned £70 million expansion.

The Environment Agency says it has found the firm isn't complying with its environmental permit and has issued a formal notice for action at a waste water treatment plant.

A man used an axe to break into a cash box at a shop in Cornwall, police have said.

The burglary happened at about 22:45 on 10 November at the Co-op in Strand, Newlyn.

The offender is described as a white man, about 5ft 8in (1.7m) tall and of medium build.

He is believed to be aged between 25 and 35 and was wearing a grey hoodie, black jacket and tracksuit bottoms as well as black Nike trainers at the time of the incident.

Devon and Cornwall Police is appealing for witnesses.

A person was taken to hospital after a crash near Hayle, according to emergency services.

Fire and ambulance crews were called to the crash, involving two vehicles, at about 08:30 on Monday.

A spokeswoman for South Western Ambulance Service said a patient was taken to Royal Cornwall Hospital at Treliske with reports of a head injury.

A 16-year-old boy was arrested after "making threats" with a knife at a pub in Cornwall, police have said.

Officers were called to the Watering Hole in Perranporth at about 01:30 on Sunday.

Security at the bar detained him before police made the arrest on suspicion of possession with intent to supply, affray and being in possession of a bladed article.

The boy has since been released under investigation pending further inquiries.

Devon and Cornwall Police is appealing for witnesses.

Tributes have been paid to a man who died after a crash near Barnstaple.

Des Miles, 58, died in North Devon District Hospital after the crash involving a tipper lorry on Monday 5 November.

Mr Miles' family said: "Des Miles was the definition of a legend.

"Every life he touched, no matter how briefly, was always that little bit brighter for knowing him.

"Every person whose life he was a part of made him so very proud and everyone will continue to do that every day and keep the wonderful memory of him alive."

Police are renewing calls for any dashcam footage of the crash.

An 89-year-old man is in hospital with a "serious leg injury" after being hit by a car, police have said.

It happened at about 18:00 on 11 November on Cowick Street in Exeter.

The ambulance service was also in attendance.

The road was blocked for several hours.
