The Dartmoor National Park Rangers have labelled the behaviour of those who have dumped batteries on a roadside as "disgraceful and disgusting".

The "very specific type" batteries were found between Widecome and Ashburton on Monday.

Teignbridge District Council - which is responsible for fly-tipping - will be removing them soon.

The rangers, who look after Dartmoor, hope the power of social media will help find the culprits.

The company said it was in talks with third parties over the possible sale of Ambrosia and its factory in Lifton, as it looks to boost its performance and slash its £500m debt pile.
