A seafront road in Torquay has reopened nine weeks after it was closed following a major fire.
Shedden Hill Road which connects part of the town to the seafront was shut to traffic after the blaze at the Shedden Hall Hotel in early June.
A pedestrian route past the scene was opened shortly after the fire.
The road was closed to traffic when an inspection found a hotel cellar extended under the highway.
Torbay Council had to wait for the site to be cleared of debris before it could assess whether the highway was fully supported and safe to reopen.
Part of the former hotel structure was demolished after the fire because it was dangerous.
The road was reopened at 16:00 on Tuesday.

Up to 50,000 festivalgoers are expected to flock to Boardmasters this weekend.
Supt Ian Drummond-Smith said: “Devon & Cornwall Police will be deploying additional patrols to Newquay.
“We will have additional patrols in Newquay town centre throughout the event and a presence on the festival site. Newquay Police Station front counter will be open Wednesday-Sunday 1000-1600. In addition, we will deploy dedicated armed officers in and around Newquay, traffic cars and traffic motorcyclists, all to keep both residents and visitors safe.
“This is our busiest week of the year in Cornwall and we ask that everyone takes responsibility for their safety – if you are attending the event please don’t leave valuables such as mobile telephones unattended, or in unoccupied tents. Please take care of your friends and family during this busy time.”

Devon and Cornwall Police will be trialling mobile fingerprint readers which will allow officers to check the identity of suspects while on patrol.
The force said the technology will help catch more criminals, especially those who seek to evade the police by providing false details.
Using both national and local databases the fingerprint readers can confirm the identity of a suspect within 30 seconds.
Quote MessageThe introduction of equipment like the fingerprint readers has a profound effect on our front-line officers. It helps them to identify suspects on the street, to reduce the demand as well as securing them more time on the streets to keep the public safe.
