    A fifth person is confirmed to have died in Cornwall, having tested positive for coronavirus.

    On Sunday evening it was confirmed a patient in their 60s had died at the Royal Cornwall Hospital.

    All of the rest of those who have died in Cornwall were over the age of 70 with underlying health conditions.

    A Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust spokesperson said: "Our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time. Out of respect for their privacy we will not be commenting further.”

    Cornwall Council has urged everyone to follow the government’s advice on staying at home, especially for older residents and people with underlying health conditions.

  2. Three coronavirus deaths in Devonpublished at 08:16 Greenwich Mean Time 23 March 2020

    Three people are now confirmed to have died in Devon who had tested positive for coronavirus. All of the deaths occurred at Torbay Hospital.

    The Torbay and South Devon NHS Foundation Trust confirmed on Sunday that a woman in her early 90s with underlying health conditions died on Friday.

    A trust spokesperson said: “Sadly, we can confirm that a patient who had been cared for at Torbay Hospital and died at the hospital on 20 March 2020 had tested positive for COVID-19.

    “The patient, was in their early 90s and had underlying health conditions.

    “The family have been informed and our thoughts and condolences are with them at this difficult and distressing time. Out of respect for their privacy we will not be commenting further.”
