Sgt Ian Manley has told me two pedestrians were caught up in this morning's crash on Madingley Road, rather than four which was previously stated.

He said: "The car has left the main carriageway, mounted the kerb, collided with a pedal cyclist and hit two pedestrians and come to rest against the lamppost."
He added that forensic teams were looking at marks left at the scene and it was being investigated "as deeply as it would with a fatal collision". No timescale has yet been given as to when the road will be reopened.

As you can see, the car is in a bad state of repair. The windscreen has been smashed and the bike that was involved in the crash is lying next to the vehicle.

There's also some blood on the road and bits of car strewn across the pavement.
