The New Forest and Hampshire Show, external is expected to attract tens of thousands of spectators over the next three days.

Hampshire's biggest summer spectacular is under way.
The New Forest and Hampshire Show, external is expected to attract tens of thousands of spectators over the next three days.
The show is a chance for the farming community to get together and discuss some of the developments affecting the industry.
Lymington dairy farmer, and former show chairman, Geoff Morgan has been giving BBC Radio Solent his views on some of the challenges facing young farmers.

There are definitely not enough young people coming into the industry, but the industry needs to get itself straight - it's dominated by the supermarkets at the moment which is having a catastrophic effect on the dairy industry. It looks like we'll end up importing milk which is something I never thought I'd see.

According to the New Forest show's website it is rated as one of the top 10 agricultural events in the country, external.
Its profile was boosted in 2012 with the visit of the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh.

The livestock tents are a hive of activity with farmers getting their animals looking their best for judging.
Mike Moody has brought seven cattle to the show from his 100-acre family farm near Ringwood - and he is spending time giving some of them a last-minute shave.

Not everyone was happy with the traffic disruption this morning.
Show secretary Dennis Dooley has said extra measures are in place this year to help ease congestion.

There is a lot of frantic activity happening across the site, but the man at the centre of it all is show secretary Dennis Dooley.

More than 90,000 people are expected here over the next three days, and the first of those have just started coming through the gates and spreading out around the show site.

Motorists in Hampshire are facing delays as thousands of people descend on the New Forest, external and Hampshire County Show.
The New Forest Agricultural Show Society was founded in 1920 and the first New Forest and Hampshire County Show was held in 1921 as a small one-day local event at Bartley Cross.
Image source, New Forest show 2015Nowadays, the New Forest and Hampshire County Show is an annual three-day agricultural event held at the end of July, attracting about 95,000 visitors over the duration.
A full range of equestrian events are held, as well as livestock competitions.
The three-day event is held at the Showground in Brockenhurst.
